Ethiopia: Independent newspaper The Reporter suspended by authorities

Ethiopia’s Media Authority suspended the licence of independent newspaper The Reporter on Monday for an indefinite period. Authorities said the newspaper can resume operations only after meeting its legal and ethical obligations. The suspension follows the licence withdrawal from another independent outlet, Addis Standard, and comes amid other pressure on journalists, including the June expulsion of La Croix’s correspondent.
