Hundreds of flights delayed, cancelled after UK air traffic control glitch

Hundreds of flights were cancelled and many more delayed at major UK airports, including Heathrow and Gatwick, due to a technical fault at the National Air Traffic Services (NATS). Ryanair reported that over 65,000 passengers were affected by delays of up to eight hours. NATS apologized and stated that the issue had been resolved, but airlines called for the resignation of their CEO, Martin Rolfe.
