Hundreds of Israelis storm Al-Aqsa Mosque compound

Hundreds of Israelis stormed the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound in occupied East Jerusalem on the fifth day of Sukkot, a Jewish holiday. They performed Jewish rituals and sang in violation of the status quo, protected by Israeli police, with about 700 participants including former lawmaker Moshe Feiglin. Israeli authorities closed roads leading to the Lions’ Gate and al-Turba Road to ease access to the Western Wall, while restrictions on Palestinian Muslim entry continued. The incident follows regular intrusions since the start of the Jewish holidays earlier this month.
