Hundreds of Young Cameroonians Already Develop AI Solutions for Urban Mobility and Smart Cities

Yango, in partnership with Zindi, organized the Yaoundé Mobility Prediction Hackathon 2026 on April 18, 2026. Over 300 participants from universities and companies designed machine learning models to predict taxi travel times based on time and weather conditions. A total of 861 submissions were recorded, demonstrating the enthusiasm of young Cameroonians for AI applied to urban mobility.
