Hurricane Trudy makes its way towards Mexico, threatening heavy rain

Hurricane Trudy was moving towards Mexico’s western coast on Saturday with sustained winds of 150 km/h, about 305 km south-s southeast of Manzanillo. The US National Hurricane Center forecast that it would pass near the coast overnight into Sunday, with hurricane conditions expected from Manzanillo to Cabo Corrientes. Rainfall of 10 to 20 cm, with isolated totals of about 38 cm in Michoacan, Colima and Jalisco, could trigger life-threatening flooding and landslides. Coastal flooding, destructive waves and localised flash floods are also possible across nearby states.
