Hydrocarbons: Here are the 5 countries that buy almost all of Senegal's oil

In 2025, Senegal's crude oil exports surged to 1,528 billion FCFA, up from 464 billion in 2024, driven by production from the Sangomar oil field. Europe is the main destination, accounting for 978.6 billion FCFA of exports, followed by Asia with 427.6 billion. Five countries dominate the market: the Netherlands (32%), China (25.3%), Italy (14.7%), Spain (13.6%), and the United States (7.4%), together making up 93% of Senegal's oil exports.
