During his visit to Tlemcen, FIFA President Gianni Infantino expressed his admiration for the Algerian football team, recalling his memorable experience of the 1982 World Cup. At the age of 12, he was impressed by the Greens' journey, particularly their historic victory against West Germany. Infantino also praised Algeria's efforts to develop its sports infrastructure, with several stadiums under construction and a regional technical center inaugurated during his visit.
