Philip Shaibu, former deputy governor of Edo State and current Director-General of the National Institute for Sports, stated that the People's Democratic Party (PDP) is declining due to President Bola Tinubu's administrative style. He is also mobilizing past leaders of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) to support the current government. Shaibu emphasized that reforms in the sports sector are underway and significant changes have been achieved in a short time.
