Simone Gbagbo recounted an attempted rape she claims to have experienced in 2011 during her arrest amid the post-electoral crisis. She accused the French army of failing to intervene to protect her, despite their presence at the scene. While she expressed forgiveness towards President Alassane Ouattara, she stated that she no longer holds resentment towards France.
