‘I won’t allow political persecution in Abia,’ Otti says

Abia State Governor Alex Otti launched his re-election campaign at Umuahia Township Stadium on Sunday, declaring that the suppression of opposition and political profiteering were over. He said the siege on Abia had ended in 2023 and pledged that no one’s property would again be demolished because of their political choices. Otti cited government investments in tertiary education, Aba industries, small businesses and agriculture, and urged voters to support the Labour Party in the coming elections. He also directed state officials to make public facilities available to parties and candidates that pay the required fees and follow applicable rules.
