Woman Unknown

_Woman Unknown_, the first feature film by May el-Toukhy since _Queen of Hearts_, was presented in competition at the Venice Film Festival. Set in the aftermath of Denmark's liberation from Nazi occupation, the film stars Mathilde Arcel as Marie, a young woman whose past during World War II threatens her future. El-Toukhy co-wrote the screenplay with Maren Louise Käehne, and the film is the only work directed by a woman in competition this year at Venice.
