Bercy 2026: Interrupting Youssou Ndour as He Connects with His Audience Is Disrespectful to All of Africa (Boubacar SEYE)

Horizon Sans Frontières (HSF) condemns the interruption of Youssou Ndour’s concert at Paris’s Accor Arena, calling it regrettable and disrespectful to the artist, his audience and Africa. The organization acknowledges that venues must enforce schedules and safety rules, but says delays and other difficulties should be anticipated through better coordination between organizers, the venue and the artist’s team. It stresses that ticket-holders who travelled and waited for the show deserve consideration. HSF also calls for broader reflection on how African artists are treated at major international cultural venues.
