Ibrahim Traoré: "Our gold will no longer serve to create value for others"

Burkina Faso's President Ibrahim Traoré inaugurated the national gold refinery (Raffinor-BF) in Ouagadougou, with a total investment of 11 billion FCFA funded by the state through SONASP in partnership with the local private sector. The refinery, with an initial capacity of 164 tonnes of gold per year, aims to control the entire value chain and position the country as a reference for gold refining in West Africa. Traoré emphasized the goal of keeping the country's mineral wealth domestically and called on youth to participate in developing technical skills for economic sovereignty.
