Idiat Adebule emerges APC senatorial candidate for Lagos West

Idiat Adebule has secured the All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial ticket for Lagos West ahead of the 2027 general elections. Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State has also secured the APC ticket for the Imo West Senatorial District. The APC senatorial primaries were conducted peacefully in Kebbi State, while former President Goodluck Jonathan failed to appear for the submission of his nomination form for the 2027 presidential election.

United States forks out USD 240 Million to the Catholic Relief Services in Addressing Global Humanitarian Needs

The United States has announced more than $240 million in humanitarian and disaster response assistance to Catholic Relief Services (CRS), the first in a series of State Department awards to trusted implementing organizations. The announcement was made in Rome by Senior Bureau Official Ryan Shrum, alongside U.S. Ambassador to the Holy See Brian Burch and others. The funding will enable CRS to provide rapid multi-sectoral assistance (food, nutrition, health, water, sanitation, shelter) in countries including Burma, DR Congo, Ethiopia, Haiti, Nigeria, and Sudan.
