Igbo identity crisis: The DNA option (2)

Since the end of the Biafra War in January 1970, ethnic disunity has wreaked havoc in the former Eastern Region. Minorities, even those who are obviously Igbo, often reject this identity in favor of their ethnic nationality. Despite cultural similarities, rivalries and prejudices hinder unity among Eastern groups, who share a democratic culture and a strong rejection of Islam in favor of Christianity.
