Igbos Can't Wait 60 Years to Become President for Four Years, Benjamin Kalu Says

Nigeria's Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu, said Igbos should not have to wait 60 years for a presidential term of only four years. Speaking at an APC women's rally in Enugu, he said that when the presidency rotates to the South-East, Igbos should receive a full eight-year term, like other regions. He was criticizing supporters of a single four-year term, including Peter Obi, the Nigeria Democratic Congress presidential candidate, who said he would serve for only four years if elected.
