Ijaw monarchs, stakeholders suspend INC elections indefinitely

The National Conference of Ijaw Traditional Rulers and Elders (N-CITRE-INC) has suspended the Ijaw National Congress (INC) elections indefinitely. Following a meeting in Yenagoa, the group decided to establish a Dispute Resolution Committee to investigate all received petitions. The elections, originally scheduled for April 13, 2026, have been put on hold until all pending disputes are resolved.
