‘I’ll leave my wife if she becomes president and governs like Tinubu’ — Amaechi

Rotimi Amaechi, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) vice-presidential candidate, said he would leave his wife if she became president and governed like Bola Tinubu. In an interview with Rapid TV, he urged Nigerians to set aside religious, political and ethnic affiliations, reject Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election and give the opposition a chance. Amaechi said the public could scrutinise his record as Rivers State governor and minister, while maintaining that he and ADC presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar had not been tested in national executive office. He also called on Nigerians to vote in large numbers and protect their ballots against electoral malpractice.
