I'm a classic old school Conservative, says Kemi Badenoch

Kemi Badenoch describes herself as a 'classic old school Conservative' at the start of her party's annual conference, outlining policy pledges and guiding principles. She emphasizes belief in common sense, hard work, and rewarding effort, advocating that welfare should be a safety net, not a lifestyle. Badenoch criticizes the previous Conservative government for not reversing Labour's structural changes, leading to increased state size, and promotes economic growth through tax cuts, deregulation, and reducing civil service size. She also announced plans to end a childcare 'cliff edge' affecting high-earning parents.
