Improve water collection before enforcing penalties — Group to Osun govt

The Network of Civil Society Groups in Osun has called on the government to improve waste collection services before enforcing fines for improper refuse disposal. The group condemned the arbitrary arrests of residents, the alleged ₦50,000 fines, public parades of offenders, and circulation of arrest videos on social media. They emphasized that the current waste management system is inadequate for effective enforcement and urged the government to establish a comprehensive waste management plan, including collection schedules and designated disposal points.
