In Cameroon, the Minister of Finance tracks 700,000 undeclared mobile phones by importers

Minister of Finance Louis Paul Motazé announced that between April 1 and April 25, 2026, 700,000 mobile phones connected to the local network for the first time without being declared. This situation arises as a new customs mechanism has been in effect since April 1, 2026, requiring importers to provide an inventory of their stocks. Despite this, some are attempting to bypass the regulations by directly placing these devices on the market.
