In New York, Judith Suminwa demands the implementation of UN resolutions on Eastern DRC

Rwandan aggression through the armed group AFC/M23 was condemned by Judith Suminwa, Prime Minister of the DRC, at the 81st UN General Assembly in New York. She called for the immediate implementation of Security Council resolutions, including resolution 2773, highlighting the devastating effects such as mass displacements, sexual violence, and child recruitment. She urged the UN Security Council to enforce its decisions and stated that the presence of FDLR should no longer justify foreign military intervention, emphasizing Kinshasa's efforts in disarmament. She also advocated for a reform of the Security Council to better represent Africa with additional permanent and non-permanent seats.
