In Niger, a show of force in support of the military power

Thousands of people demonstrated in Niamey to support General Abdourahamane Tiani after a thwarted military mutiny. The rally took place at the Concertation square, where government supporters gathered, waving Russian flags and chanting anti-imperialist slogans. Russian paramilitary forces have become key allies of Niger in the fight against jihadism in the Sahel region.
