In Niger, new demonstration in support of the military government

Thousands of people demonstrated on Wednesday in Niamey to support General Abdourahamane Tiani, the head of state, following a thwarted military mutiny. This gathering occurred days after supporters of the military government suppressed an attempted uprising with the help of Russian mercenaries. Tiani has not yet made any public statements since the incident.
