In North Kivu, civil society condemns the killing of 7 civilians in Mudja groupement

At least seven people were killed during the night of November 2–3 in the villages of Mukondo and Bugamba 1, in Mudja groupement, Nyiragongo territory. In Mukondo, unidentified armed men entered two homes, killing a father and a couple and shooting the father’s wife in the arm. In a statement issued on November 4, Nyiragongo civil society condemned the attacks, which it said occurred during nighttime burglaries, and denounced a rise in human rights violations. It said the area is controlled by FRN/M23 rebels and urged authorities and other relevant actors to protect civilians.
