In Toronto, smoke from Canadian wildfires tints the sky orange

Wildfire smoke in Canada caused severe air pollution in Toronto, turning the sky orange. Despite the poor air quality, some residents continue to enjoy parks while others wear masks. A heat alert is in effect with temperatures reaching 33°C, near the record for July 15. Authorities canceled outdoor children's activities and opened cooling centers; Environment Canada expects improvement only after Friday. Assistant medical officer Howard Shapiro compared the exposure to smoking cigarettes.
