Incident on the Congo River at Yumbi-Makotipoko: Kinshasa and Brazzaville activate their coordination mechanisms and open an investigation

An incident on the Congo River between Yumbi in the DRC and Makotipoko in Congo-Brazzaville was discussed during the 97th Council of Ministers meeting chaired by Félix Tshisekedi. Security forces from both countries are involved, and an investigation has been opened to determine the circumstances of the incident. The Defense and Foreign Ministers of both countries have initiated contacts to prevent escalation and clarify the situation.
