“Increase our pensions before you leave office,” Ogun retired principals urge Governor Abiodun

The Ogun State chapter of the Association of Retired Principals of Secondary Schools of Nigeria (ARPSSON) urged Governor Dapo Abiodun to implement a consequential pension increase before his term ends in 2027 and clear gratuity arrears owed for 2020–2025. Association president Segun Obadimu made the appeal at its annual congress in Sagamu, saying current pension payments no longer meet retirees’ needs amid economic pressures. The congress focused on healthy living in retirement, including hypertension and diabetes, while association leaders urged members to vote in the 2027 elections and avoid violence. Education officials commended the gathering and encouraged retired principals to continue advising the education sector.
