Independence Day: Tinubu speaks on fuel subsidy return amid petrol price hike - Daily Post Nigeria

President Bola Tinubu confirmed that there will be no return of fuel subsidies, stating that the government has completed difficult reforms to set Nigeria on a better economic path. During his nationwide address for Nigeria’s 66th Independence Anniversary, he emphasized that the country has passed through its Red Sea and should move forward with confidence. Former Vice President and ADC presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar announced he would restore the fuel subsidy if elected in January 2026. Currently, petrol prices in parts of Abuja range from N1,370 to N1,450 per litre.
