India rejects Hague court order to restore Indus waters pact with Pakistan

India has rejected a ruling by the Permanent Court of Arbitration in The Hague ordering it to uphold the 1960 Indus Waters Treaty with Pakistan, claiming the tribunal has no jurisdiction over the matter. This rejection follows India's suspension of the treaty last April after an attack in Kashmir that killed 26 people, which India attributed to Pakistani assailants. The Indian Ministry of External Affairs stated that India does not recognize the court's verdict.
