Indonesia seizes more than a tonne of ketamine from tanker

Indonesian authorities seized 1.16 tonnes of ketamine, valued at $192 million, from a Mongolian-flagged vessel. The ship had come from Malaysia and was intercepted this week in the waters of North Sumatra province. Eight crew members were arrested.

A US State Department report issued under Secretary of State Marco Rubio describes forced labor, sexual exploitation, and fraudulent recruitment of vulnerable people in Senegal. It says traffickers exploit the confiage practice to recruit children, while some high school teachers allegedly sexually abuse girls, sometimes in exchange for money, material goods, or good grades. The report also cites child sex tourism in Dakar and Saint-Louis, and to a lesser extent in Cap Skirring and the Petite Côte. Bank Employee Charged Over Alleged Hacking of Banking System

A bank employee appeared before Milimani Resident Magistrate Irene Thamara in Nairobi on October 23 and denied charges of unauthorised computer access, attempted theft by servant and conspiracy to commit a felony. Prosecutors allege that he duplicated Finacle user profiles VM53601 and BC 23924 between May 2026 and October 21, with other people who have not appeared in court. The alleged access was intended to facilitate theft from the financial institution. He was released on KSh200,000 cash bail or an alternative bond of KSh600,000 as the case proceeds.
