'Industrial chemical may trigger hormone-sensitive cancers'

Nigerian researcher Uche Arunsi has raised concerns about environmental safety, stating that a widely used industrial chemical, perfluorooctanesulfonic acid (PFOS), is responsible for hormone-sensitive cancers. His research indicates that PFOS disrupts steroid hormone production, leading to imbalances that may encourage the development of cancers such as prostate, breast, and ovarian cancer. Arunsi also highlighted that PFOS exposure could accelerate reproductive aging in women and contribute to prostate cancer progression in men.
