INEC: Amupitan away on official assignment

The Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Joash Amupitan, is currently on an official assignment outside Abuja. INEC's Director of Voter Education and Publicity, Mrs. Victoria Eta-Messi, clarified that Amupitan has the authority to delegate his responsibilities to any National Commissioner. This clarification followed a request from the Obidient Movement regarding Amupitan's absence and the appointment of National Commissioner, Prof. Rhoda Gumus, as Acting Chairman during a meeting with an African Union delegation.
