Insecurity in the East: over 6,000 students miss ENAFEP in North Kivu

The 2026 session of the ENAFEP in North Kivu saw 6,019 out of 46,769 registered students absent, mainly due to persistent insecurity. The Rutshuru and Nyiragongo territories are most affected, with localities such as Lusuli, Mirangi, and Ibuga hit hard by armed violence and population displacements. This highlights the challenges facing the education sector in eastern DRC.
