Insecurity: Presidency, IGP, lawmakers meet over establishment of state police

The Nigerian Presidency met with the leadership of the National Assembly and the Inspector-General of Police, Tunji Disu, to fine-tune the framework for establishing state police. Deputy Senate President Jibrin Barau and Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kalu represented the parliament. Special Adviser Bayo Onanuga said significant progress was made, and Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila announced that a constitutional amendment is expected soon.
