Internal Security: Operation Safe Holidays 11 launched in Yopougon by the Director General of the National Police

On Thursday July 16, 2026, Operation 'Safe Holidays 11' was officially launched at Place CP1 in Yopougon by General Youssouf Kouyaté, Director General of the National Police, in the presence of Deputy Mayor Adama Bictogo. This inter-force operation mobilizes Police, Gendarmerie, Armed Forces, and the National Office for Civil Protection across eleven prefectures. It aims to combat criminal hotspots, dismantle human trafficking networks, destroy smoking areas, and restore public tranquility. The operation is also linked to preparations for the 66th independence anniversary celebrations on August 7 in Yopougon.
