Intersociety: 3,083 Christians killed, 3,193 abducted in eight months

The International Society for Civil Liberties and Rule of Law (Intersociety) reported that 3,083 Christians were killed and 3,193 abducted between January and August 2026 in attacks linked to Islamic extremist groups. In July and August, 437 Christians were killed and 393 abducted, with notable incidents occurring in Plateau and Benue states. The organization also reported 400 churches attacked and 25 priests and pastors killed or abducted during this period.
