IPID probes alleged police assault and arrest of Beaufort West woman

A woman from Prince Valley, Alowma Daniels, filed a case with the Independent Police Investigative Directorate (IPID) after allegedly being assaulted and unlawfully arrested at her home. Her brother, Lottering Daniels, stated that police officers humiliated two boys, shot at their family dog, and then entered her house to arrest her, with Daniels fearing for her safety as an officer pointed a firearm at her. She was released later that day on charges of assaulting a police officer, raising questions about the legality of her arrest.
