Iran army says fired 'warning missiles' at US destroyers in Gulf of Oman

Iran's military said on Friday it had fired 'warning missiles' at two US destroyers in the Gulf of Oman, forcing them to leave the area, according to state media. The US Central Command quickly denied the incident, stating that Iranian forces did not attack and that doing so would violate the ceasefire in effect since April 8. This latest episode shakes a truce that had largely halted hostilities between Iran, the US, and Israel since the war began on February 28. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said on Wednesday that Washington had ended sustained strikes under Operation Epic Fury and had destroyed what remained of Iran's air force and its entire conventional navy.
