Iran dismisses idea of Trump meeting supreme leader

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has dismissed the idea of a meeting between US President Donald Trump and Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei. Trump had floated the possibility in an interview with the New York Post. Araghchi called the prospect unrealistic, urging realism. Mojtaba Khamenei became Supreme Leader in March following the death of his father Ali Khamenei in US-Israeli strikes. The war is paused since April 8 under a fragile ceasefire, and direct US-Iran talks have failed to produce a permanent end.
