Iran has announced a rise in gas prices for heavy consumers, with a rate of 100,000 rials per liter for those exceeding their monthly quota of 110 liters. This decision comes amid a fragile economic context, characterized by high inflation and declining purchasing power. In August, daily gasoline consumption reached nearly 145 million liters, necessitating imports to supplement national production. Residents fear that this increase will lead to a general rise in prices, particularly for food products.
