Iran: Two Oil Tankers Hit by Mines in the Strait of Hormuz

Iran’s Revolutionary Guards said Tuesday that two oil tankers had hit mines in the Strait of Hormuz. According to a statement published on Sepah News, the vessels caught fire and were immobilized. The Guards said their navy had placed the mines along a route south of the strait that it considers illegal. The incident occurred in the strategic shipping passage at the heart of the conflict between Tehran and Washington.
