US President Donald Trump and Iranian President Pezeshkian have electronically signed a memorandum of understanding at Versailles, lifting sanctions on Iranian oil and reopening the Strait of Hormuz with no tolls for 60 days. The US will lift its naval blockade within 30 days and Iran will clear the strait of mines within the same period. Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced the agreement, mediated by Pakistan and Qatar, with an official ceremony scheduled for June 19, 2026 in Switzerland.
