Iran War: Putin Says Russia Is Ready to Intervene to Find a Solution

Vladimir Putin offered Russia's help to resolve the Iran war during a meeting with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian in Turkmenistan. He expressed Moscow's readiness to contribute to efforts to end the conflict, several months after US and Israeli strikes against Iran began in February 2026. Negotiations between Washington and Tehran remain stalled, especially over the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, with Pezeshkian criticizing the difficulties of US negotiations. Russia and Iran have strengthened their diplomatic and military ties since Russia's offensive in Ukraine started in 2022.
