Iranian “Good Faith”: Strait of Hormuz Could Reopen Within Two Days

Iran says it could reopen the Strait of Hormuz within two days, rather than the seven days proposed in its initial plan, if Washington accepts its demands, Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei said. Messages are still being exchanged through mediators, and Tehran says reopening the strait could restore maritime security and quickly restart negotiations. Its conditions include a regional ceasefire, the release of Iranian assets held abroad, the lifting of sanctions on its oil sector, and an end to the US naval blockade of Iranian ports. Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi also raised additional Iranian demands in an interview with Al Jazeera.
