Israel rights group petitions top court to order release of 14 Gaza doctors

The Israeli organization Physicians for Human Rights-Israel has filed a petition with the Supreme Court demanding the immediate release of 14 Gaza doctors held without charge for over a year. Among them is Dr. Hussam Abu Safia, director of Kamal Adwan Hospital, who was arrested in December 2024. His family reported that he has lost 40 kg and suffers from fractures and other health issues while in prison. UN experts have warned that he has been subjected to severe torture.
