Israeli Settlers Attack Palestinians Amid Olive Harvest in Occupied West Bank

About 80 masked settlers armed with clubs attacked Palestinians harvesting olives in the occupied West Bank village of Abu Falah. Settlers used slingshots, and others later arrived with machine guns; live gunfire was heard, and a photographer saw a settler fire a gun. Israeli soldiers fired tear gas toward the Palestinians while the attack continued. Washington Post journalist Heidi Levine was beaten and robbed, and later said her helmet and flak jacket had probably saved her life.
