Israel's Smotrich announces plan for 2,162 homes in occupied West Bank

Far-right Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich announced the approval of 2,162 new housing units in illegal settlements in the occupied West Bank. The units are located near Jerusalem (1,006), Nablus (922), and Hebron (234). Smotrich said the construction strengthens Israel's security and prevents the creation of an 'Arab terror state'. The Palestinian presidency condemned the decision and called on the US to stop the Israeli 'madness'.
