Israel’s war leaves Lebanon’s schools balancing students and the displaced

In Froun, Lebanon, the school led by Abbas Makki is reopening while also serving as a shelter for displaced people due to Israeli airstrikes. The area is devastated, lacking water and electricity, with much of the infrastructure destroyed. Since the war intensified in March, over one million Lebanese have been displaced, mainly from southern Lebanon and the Bekaa Valley. Despite the school's reopening, Makki emphasizes that they cannot abandon those in need.
