ISWAP commanders, IEDs specialist surrender to troops in Yobe

Two commanders of the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP), including a Vehicle-Borne Improvised Explosive Device (VBIED) specialist, surrendered to troops of Operation HADIN KAI in Yobe on June 8, 2026. Identified as Ismail Mohammed and Abu Umar, they are currently in military custody for investigation. Additionally, two suspected terrorist informants were arrested in separate operations in Borno state.
